Inverse filter criteria for blind deconvolution and equalization using two cumulants

چکیده
Cumulant (higher-order statistics) based inverse filter criteria maximizing J,,, = / C,l’/IC,I”, where m # r and C, (C,) denotes the mth-order (rth-order) cumulant of the inverse filter output, have been proposed for blind deconvolution and equalization with only non-Gaussian output measurements of an unknown linear time-invariant (LTI) system. This paper shows that the maximum of J,,,, associated with the true inverse filter of the unknown LTI system, exists only for r to be even and m > r, otherwise J,,, is unbounded. The admissible values for (r, m) = (2s, 1 + s) where I > s 2 1 include (2,3), (2,4) and (4,6) proposed by Tugnait, Wiggins, Shalvi and Weinstein in addition to the new ones such as (2, S), (2,6) and (4,5). Some simulation results associated with the inverse filter criteria J,,, with the admissible values for (I, m) are then provided. Finally, we draw some conclusions.

Performance of cumulant based inverse filters for blind deconvolution
Chi and Wu proposed a class of inverse filter criteria Jr;m using rth-order and mth-order cumulants (where r is even and m > r 2) for blind deconvolution (equalization) of a (nonminimum phase) linear time-invariant (LTI) system with only non-Gaussian measurements. The inverse filter criteria Jr;m for r = 2 are frequently used such as Wiggins’ criterion, Donoho’s criteria, and Tugnait’s inverse ...

Cumulant-based inverse filter criteria (IFC) using secondand higher order statistics (HOS) proposed by Tugnait et al. have been widely used for blind deconvolution of discrete-time multi-input multi-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant systems with non-Gaussian measurements through a multistage successive cancellation procedure, but the deconvolved signals turn out to be an unknown permutation o...

In this paper we present a simple efficient local unsupervised learning algorithm for on-line adaptive multichannel blind deconvolution and separation of i.i.d. sources. Under mild conditions, there exits a stable inverse system so that the source signals can be exactly recovered from their convolutive mixtures. Based on the existence of the inverse filter, we construct a two-stage neural netwo...

Tugnait and Chi and Chen proposed multi-input multi-output inverse filter criteria (MIMO-IFC) using higher order statistics for blind deconvolution of MIMO linear time-invariant systems. This paper proposes three properties on the performance of the MIMO linear equalizer associated with MIMO-IFC for any signal-to-noise ratio, including P1) perfect phase equalization property, P2) a relation to ...
متن کاملContrast Functions for Deterministic Blind Source Separation
Blind Source Separation (BSS) is often carried out under the assumption that sources are statistically mutually independent, at least in the sense of cumulants of given order. However, this assumption is not mandatory, and can be replaced by some assumption on the source distribution, even if all sources are identically distributed. Contrast functions are optimization criteria that satisfy some...
